I noticed something about a TIS Test Drive Card. How do I get one of those?
Some organizations purchase TIS Test Drive Cards so they can provide free subscriptions to participants at events, conferences, or through promotions on their own websites. TIS customer service representatives do not have access to these cards and cannot provide them to users that request them. If you are wanting to try out TIS before you purchase an extended subscription, we have low cost 2 day subscription rates available.

I use a MAC instead of an IBM compatible PC. Can I use the All New TIS site?
No, unfortunately we still have some challenges to overcome with the plug-ins required for TIS working properly on a MAC. At this time, we have to keep our system requirements to IBM compatible PCs only. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
-
Do you support any browsers other than Internet Explorer?
We are working out some final details with Firefox configuration and performance, but at this time we are still unable to announce complete support. We should be able to provide more details soon. Other browsers, including the new Safari browser, are undergoing compatibility testing but we have no current plan to release official support at this time.
-
What are the minimum PC/Browser requirements for TIS?
Please see our System Requirements page.
-
What format is the information in and is a special viewer required?
Most TIS documents are displayed in Adobe PDF format and require the Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 7.0 or later to be
installed for viewing. If two Acrobat viewers are installed at the same time (such as version 6.x and 7.x), the viewer
may open but show a blank page. Solution: uninstall previous versions and install Adobe PDF Reader 7.0 or later.

Can I turn off my security warning messages?
It is important to note that certain pages within TIS are secure (or https://) to protect your account information and
other library content pages are not secure to improve performance. Some browsers will detect changes from a secure mode
to not secure mode and may display the security warning message. Follow these steps to turn off the security warning
message in the Internet Explorer Browser:
From the Internet Explorer Browser Menu Bar, Click on View or Tools depending upon version, and Click on
'Internet Options'. A window will open, then click on the 'Advanced' Tab. Now scroll down to 'Security'.
Uncheck the box under 'Security' to Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode.
-
Is my Pop-Up Blocker compatible with TIS?
Many documents within TIS open in a new browser window for viewing. Pop-Up Blockers may block TIS from launching a new
browser window. In order to view documents, turn off the Pop-Up Blocker for our site or change the Pop-Up Blocker settings/preferences.
-
TIS does not fit within my browser window - why?
TIS is optimized for 1024x768 resolution. TIS will automatically launch the correct site based on your
monitor resolution. If your hardware can support it, we recommend changing your Desktop Properties Screen Area to use
1024x768 resolution. Right click on your Desktop and choose Properties, click on the Settings Tab, and adjust the
screen resolution, then click OK to save the changes.
